Someone Near You Is Searching Google Maps Right Now.
Are they finding you or the competitor three doors down? The Maps Pack is the block of three listings Google shows before any organic result. We get your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, and Apple Business Connect listing into it.
Local SEO for businesses in Kampala and across Uganda and East Africa.
Local optimisation was part of the strategy behind Easy Power’s 500 → 1,200+ weekly Google visitors in 30 days.
Proof From A Real Ugandan Business
Local SEO Was Part of What Got Easy Power Found
Easy Power Company sells solar panels, electric fencing, and security systems in Uganda. Before working with us, their Google presence outside their own website was thin.
An unoptimised business listing. Inconsistent information scattered across the web. No deliberate local targeting in their content.
As part of the full SEO engagement, we optimised their Google Business Profile. We cleaned up their local citations. We built location-specific targeting into the site, alongside the technical and content work.
That local layer sits underneath the headline result. Weekly traffic went from 500 to over 1,200 visitors in 30 days. Top 3 rankings for commercial search terms. Over 300 million UGX in attributable revenue.
That’s not a one-off tweak. We lay the same groundwork for every client from day one.

Revenue From Organic Search
46% of all Google searches are now seeking local information (Google). 76% of mobile “near me” searches lead to a visit within 24 hours. Most of that demand never touches your website. It only ever sees the Maps Pack.
Your Business Is Real. On Google Maps, It's Invisible.
- Someone searches "[your service] near me" in Kampala, and three competitors show up before you do.
- Your Google Business Profile is unclaimed, unverified, or hasn't been touched since the day it was created.
- Your business name, address, and phone number are listed differently across directories, and Google notices.
- You have real reviews from real customers, but nobody is asking for them, so the count barely moves. Whitespark's research found a measurable ranking jump right at 10 reviews. Below that threshold, Google barely notices you exist.
- Your business isn't listed on Bing Places or Apple Business Connect. Siri, Copilot, and Alexa have nothing to recommend when someone asks for a business like yours.
If any of this sounds familiar, you have a local SEO problem. It’s one of the fastest problems on this list to fix.
Everything Your Business Needs to Rank Locally
Google Business Profile Setup & Optimisation
GBP signals make up roughly a third of what decides who wins the Maps Pack (Whitespark, 2026). More than reviews. More than links
Bing Places, Apple Business Connect & Beyond
Google brings the most search volume in Uganda. But it isn’t the only map your customers open. We set up and verify your Bing Places listing, your Apple Business Connect profile, and your Facebook and Yelp listings
Apple Business Connect usage nearly doubled in a year: 14% to 27% (BrightLocal, 2026). Bing Places now feeds Copilot and Alexa too, not just Bing search.
Local Keyword Research
We find the exact “near me” and location-based phrases your customers in Kampala, Nairobi, or Dar es Salaam are typing. Then we target your site and profile around them.
“Near me” searches have grown 900% in two years (Google), and they’re still accelerating.
Local Citations & NAP Consistency
We build and correct your listings across local directories. Your business Name, Address, and Phone number match everywhere Google looks. That’s the signal it uses to decide whether your location is real.
Inconsistent NAP data remains one of the top-15 individual ranking factors in the Maps Pack (Whitespark, 2026).
Location Pages & On-Page Local Signals
Google brings the most search volume in Uganda. But it isn’t the only map your customers open. We set up and verify your Bing Places listing, your Apple Business Connect profile, and your Facebook and Yelp listings
Review Generation & Management
We set up a simple, policy-safe system for asking happy customers for reviews. We show you how to respond to every one. Review count, recency, and sentiment are all ranking factors in the Maps Pack.
Rankings can fall off within about 18 days of no new reviews (Sterling Sky). Velocity matters more than total volume.
Local Citations & NAP Consistency
Local SEO Works. But It's Not for Every Business.
This is for you if:
- Customers search for a business like yours "near me" or by neighbourhood, town, or city
- You rely on foot traffic, phone calls, or local deliveries, not just national or global orders
- You already have a Google Business Profile but haven't touched it since the day it was created
- Competitors with a worse product or service consistently outrank you on Google Maps
- You serve one or more specific towns across Uganda or East Africa and want to be found in each one
- You want one team handling Google, Bing, and Apple listings instead of juggling three logins yourself
This is NOT for you if:
- Your customers are anywhere in the world with no city or region tied to how they find you
- You want to be #1 in the Maps Pack in a week. Local rankings build over 60 to 90 days, not days
- You're not willing to ask happy customers for a Google review, ever
- You already dominate the Maps Pack for every keyword that matters to your business

Honest Answers to the Questions We Hear Most
Updated July 2026 · Answers written by Francis Baguma, Senior SEO Strategist, Elite Webmasters
What is local SEO?
Local SEO means optimising your business listings, on-site content, and citations across Google, Bing, and Apple. The goal is to show up in map results and “near me” searches for your city or service area. Google ranks local results using three signals: relevance, distance, and prominence. Get those right and you appear above the organic results, for free, every time someone nearby searches.
Do you optimise Bing Places and Apple Maps too, or only Google?
Yes, plus Facebook and Yelp. Google still brings the most search volume in Uganda. But Bing Places now feeds Bing search, Microsoft Copilot, and Alexa. Apple Business Connect feeds Siri and Apple Maps. Its usage nearly doubled in a year: 14% to 27% (BrightLocal, 2026). A listing that exists only on Google is invisible on all of those.
How long does local SEO take to work in Uganda?
Most businesses see movement in the Google Maps Pack within 60 to 90 days, once the Google Business Profile is fully optimised and citations are consistent. Competitive categories in Kampala can take longer. Local rankings tend to be more stable once earned than standard organic rankings.
Do I need a physical office to rank on Google Maps?
Yes, for a standard Google Business Profile. You need a physical address customers or deliveries can reach. Or you set your profile up as a service-area business if you don’t see walk-in customers. We’ll tell you which setup fits your business before we start.
Can you manage local SEO for more than one location?
Yes. Each location gets its own Google Business Profile, its own local keyword targeting, and its own citation set. We’ll map this out with you as part of the free review.
Does local SEO still matter now that Google shows AI Overviews?
More than ever. Up to 68% of local searches now trigger an AI Overview (Whitespark, 2025). Those AI answers are still built from the Google Maps Pack and Business Profiles beneath them. If your profile isn’t optimised, you’re invisible in the AI answer and the map results at the same time.
How much does local SEO cost in Uganda?
Local SEO is included as part of our monthly SEO retainer, which starts from $400 (roughly 1.5M UGX) per month. Every engagement starts with a free Google Business Profile review, so you know exactly what needs fixing before you pay for anything.
